Brief
A house for weekends, for two and sometimes six guests. It had to be warm on cold nights, easy to clean, and need little upkeep.
Approach
One big room for cooking, eating and sitting, so whoever cooks stays in the conversation. Open shelves replaced wall cabinets in the kitchen: everything in use is in view, and nothing gathers dust out of sight.
A timber corner sofa whose cushions lift off into extra beds. The side window was set lower so the morning mist can be seen from the sofa.
